Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu demanded peace in Changlang district. He warned residents and students against disrupting the Special Intensive Revision process. The review, occurring for the first time in twenty years, carries strict eligibility rules for applicants and their parents. Khandu insisted that only those meeting specific criteria will qualify for the program.
The Chief Minister slammed attempts by student groups to influence the revision. He told locals to trust the system and follow legal channels. "If there is any deviation, please submit a complaint in writing, so that we can carry out further investigation into the matter," Khandu said. He urged calm following recent bouts of violence that left several people injured.
Khandu also addressed border security after meeting with Na and Mara community leaders from Taksing. He brought their infrastructure proposals directly to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. The federal government intends to bolster support for these border regions shortly.
Finally, the state prepares for Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan to arrive for a two-day visit. This marks his first trip to the state in his current role. He will attend cultural events and deliver an address during a special session on September 9.
