Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) inked a deal with NABARD Consultancy Services Private Limited (NABCONS) on Thursday, July 16. This partnership turns NABCONS into the Project Monitoring Unit for the board. They will now track all state government programs, Central Sector Schemes, and various agriculture projects across Arunachal Pradesh.
S.V. Ranga Rao, General Manager of NABARD Itanagar, and APAMB Chief Executive Officer Okit Palling signed the agreement. Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu and Agriculture Secretary Samuel Changkija watched the signing. The state needs new strategies. It must adapt to unique local geography and conditions.
Minister Wangsu pointed to the gap between high-quality produce and market access. He said, "Arunachal Pradesh has immense potential but requires strategies tailored to its unique geography and local conditions." Officials hope to close this gap by bolstering digital agriculture systems. This push aims to sharpen planning and speed up service delivery for farmers.
Better roads and a deep farming base offer chances for crop expansion. The state spans tropical to temperate zones. Agriculture Secretary Samuel Changkija wants tight coordination between both groups. He believes the technical backing from NABCONS will solve persistent field-level hurdles. Both sides expect this link to streamline project execution statewide.
