ANSAM Demands Justice Following Brutal Killing of Six Naga Civilians

Imphal: The All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has issued a sharp rebuke against the state and central governments for their failure to resolve the abduction and murder of six Naga civilians. During a press conference held on Monday, association president Th. Anteshang Maring stated that over 30 days have elapsed since the victims were killed by suspected Kuki armed militants, specifically identified as KNA(P).

Maring criticized the lack of progress in the investigation, noting that no suspects have been detained or publicly named. He further highlighted that the bodies of the victims remain in a mortuary, causing immense distress to the grieving families. ANSAM claims that relatives provided authorities with a list of individuals suspected of involvement, yet no visible legal action has been pursued by officials.

During the briefing, Maring challenged the government's decision to transport three injured Kuki individuals, whom the organization labeled as armed militants, to Imphal for medical treatment. He said, "No individual had been publicly identified or brought to justice in connection with the case despite the passage of more than a month."

ANSAM is now calling for immediate government intervention to ensure accountability. The student body warned that it is prepared to escalate its response if the authorities do not take concrete steps toward delivering justice for the victims.
