Guwahati: Aaranyak and the Bodoland Territorial Council handed ten bicycles to forest staff at Raimona National Park on October 14. This gear helps the team patrol the grounds better. The event took place at the Kachugaon Forest IB in the park’s Central Range. It aims to sharpen field mobility and bolster wildlife protection efforts.
Around 60 forest officials gathered for the handover. Attendees included BTC Forest Executive Member James Basumatary, Gossaigaon MLA Sabharam Basumatary, and CHD of the BTC Forest Department Dr. Sonali Ghosh. Divisional Forest Officers Mustafa Ali Ahmed and P.K. Bhuyan joined them alongside Aaranyak Deputy Executive Director Dr. Bibhuti Prasad Lahkar. The staff remains the backbone of the park. "The organisation acknowledged the continued cooperation and collaboration of the Forest Department in advancing shared conservation goals."
Aaranyak staffer Binita Baruwati coordinated the project. She worked alongside Ivy Farheen Hussain, Bijeet Baro, Mizing Boro, Gayatri Dutta, Raj Limbu, Birdutta Boro, Dhananjoy Mashahary, and Ajoy Basumatary. This push aims to lift morale and field capacity for those working the front lines. The group hopes these cycles improve daily conservation and park management work.
