Unidentified body discovered in Kynshi River

Shillong: An unidentified man's body was discovered floating in the Kynshi River on Thursday afternoon near Rilang village in the South West Khasi Hills. Local residents spotted the remains at approximately 2:15 pm near the Borbasing Bridge, located about two kilometers from Ranikor, and promptly notified the police.

Officers arrived at the scene and secured the body to prevent the strong river current from carrying it further downstream. An inquest was held at the site in the presence of the Rilang village headman and several witnesses. Official sources indicated that the deceased appears to be between 25 and 28 years old.

The man was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black shorts, and black-and-white striped Adidas slippers. While investigators noted a fractured skull during the initial examination, they found no other visible external injuries. Officials stated, "The body has been moved to the Ranikor CHC morgue for further procedures."
