Agartala: Tripura officials ordered all schools to close on Monday. Government, private, and aided institutions remain shut due to relentless downpours. Rain lashed West Tripura and Sepahijala districts throughout the morning.

The Secondary Education Department postponed the Bochor Bachao examination to protect students and staff. Authorities expect the deluge to continue for several hours. The government confirmed, "The precautionary measures were taken to safeguard students, teachers and school staff amid the continuing spell of heavy rain."

District Education Officers must enforce the closure immediately. Water sits deep in low-lying areas across both districts. Officials urged residents to stay off the roads and watch for further updates. The Education Department will set a new date for the test later.
