Agartala: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education officially closed its 2026 academic cycle on Thursday. The declaration of Year-Saving examination results finalized performance metrics for both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary students. TBSE President Dr. Dhananjay Gan Choudhury confirmed the cycle ended with the July 30 release of these supplementary scores.
The Madhyamik pass rate rose to 84.93 percent from an initial 84.18 percent. Out of 758 students taking the Year-Saving test, 239 passed. This brings the total successful count to 27,333 out of 32,184 candidates. Board Secretary Dr. Jaydeep Chakraborty confirmed that 292 schools achieved a perfect 100 percent pass rate.
Higher Secondary results also showed progress. The pass rate climbed from 79.33 percent to 80.65 percent after 350 students cleared the Year-Saving exams out of 1,570 candidates. In total, 21,374 of 26,504 students cleared their classes. Sixty-six schools hit a perfect pass rate in this category.
Regional performance varied widely. Gomati led Madhyamik results at 89.07 percent, while Dhalai lagged at 72.65 percent. Sepahijala topped the Higher Secondary list with 85.54 percent. Dhalai again sat at the bottom with 69.05 percent. Officials view the Year-Saving initiative as a vital tool. Dr. Dhananjay Gan Choudhury stated that the announcement "symbolised the final conclusion of the 2026 examination cycle." The board aims to use these figures to mitigate dropout risks across Tripura.
