Imphal: The VDF Welfare Association of Thoubal District delivered a 3 lakh rupee death benefit to the family of the late VDF No. 853 Leishangthem Bobo Singh. He died on August 21, 2026, after a bout with illness. The officer served at the Chingkham Outpost.
H. Debendra Singh, the Additional Superintendent of Police for Operations in Thoubal, handed the payment to the widow, Leishangthem Gitarani Devi. This took place at the District Police Headquarters. Several officials attended the ceremony. These included Deputy Superintendent of Police Y. Sunanta Singh, RO Y. Shankerdash Mangang, cashier S. Shoba Singh, and the executive committee members of the association.
The group relies on the VDF Welfare Fund to assist kin. The association stated the payout is "part of its commitment to supporting the families of VDF personnel during times of distress." Funds were issued under the oversight of the Superintendent of Police.
