Sikkim Manipal University Opens Junior Research Fellow Position for 2026

Gangtok: Sikkim Manipal University is seeking a candidate to fill a Junior Research Fellow position for the 2026 academic year. The successful applicant will join a specific research initiative titled "Litter Vision: Combating Plastic Waste Crisis in the Himalayan Regions with AI and loT - The Case of Jammu and Sikkim."

Qualified candidates must hold a BE, BTech, ME, or MTech degree in fields including civil engineering, environmental engineering, or biotechnology. Alternatively, applicants with an MSc in chemistry or environmental science are eligible if they achieved a minimum of 60 percent marks or a 6.5 CGPA. The position is open to individuals aged 30 or younger.

The university offers a monthly salary of Rs. 37,000, plus applicable house rent allowance. Interested professionals should submit a signed curriculum vitae and all relevant supporting documentation via email to the project team. The final deadline for all applications is June 30, 2026.
