Gangtok: Sikkim has successfully distributed enumeration forms to all eligible voters as part of its ongoing special intensive revision of electoral rolls. Chief Electoral Officer Raj Singh Yadav confirmed on June 17 that the state finished this process ahead of schedule and is now focusing on the collection phase.
Voters must return their completed forms to their designated Booth Level Officers by June 28. Yadav cautioned that meeting this deadline is mandatory for inclusion in the upcoming draft electoral roll, stating, "distribution of forms alone does not guarantee inclusion in the draft electoral roll."
Once officials receive the documents, they will digitize the data using the official BLO App. While distribution is complete, the pace of this digital processing remains a concern for authorities. Current data shows significant variations in progress, with Pakyong reporting the lowest digitization rate at 31 percent.
Yadav also clarified the responsibilities of election staff, noting that Booth Level Officers are strictly restricted to their assigned polling areas. Residents living outside their registered addresses must proactively reach out to the officials in their respective constituencies to ensure their paperwork is handled correctly.
