Shillong Hospital Issues Urgent Call for Next of Kin of Deceased Man

Shillong: A Shillong hospital morgue holds the body of a man with no known family. The Joint Director of Health Services for the Civil Hospital issued a public notice today to track down relatives of Promise Chandra Dey.

Dey was 65 years old. A 108 ambulance crew found him lying near Polo Tower before rushing him to the facility. He checked into the Male Medical Ward on October 1.

The man died four days later on October 5 at 10:15 pm. Hospital staff noted that no one has stepped forward to claim him since his initial admission. The institution warned that if family or acquaintances do not identify and collect the body within three days, they will proceed with disposal. Hospital authorities stated, "no relatives have come forward since his admission."
