Imphal: Security forces pulled 27 improvised explosive devices from an 8-km stretch of road in Manipur. The operation ran from October 4 to 7 along the Shangkhalok-Pilong route near the Myanmar border. Troops found the bombs hidden in bushes.

Assam Rifles and bomb disposal teams from the Indian Army led the sweep. They used sniffer dogs to track down the hidden explosives. A defense official confirmed the successful neutralisation of the threats on October 9. The route sits near the remote village of Pilong.

The force cleared the path to protect locals. Assam Rifles stated the operation stopped groups trying to cause chaos and "ensured the safe movement of local border communities." This region remains on edge. Suspected militants killed four Tangkhul Naga civilians near Pilong on September 24. That bloodshed triggered the security push.
