Kohima: The NPF Central Youth Wing backed the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority Bill on Monday. Lawmakers passed the legislation unanimously in the State Legislative Assembly. The group called the move a landmark achievement for the state. It will set up an autonomous governing body for six eastern districts. The goal is to close developmental gaps and push public services into remote areas.
The youth wing credited the PDA government and Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for the win. They stated the bill moved through the house in a dignified manner. The new authority aims to secure the social, economic, educational, cultural, and linguistic goals of the region. Supporters believe the measure ensures that "no community is left behind."
The move represents a major shift in how the eastern frontier operates. It empowers the region to grow alongside the rest of the Naga community. Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio framed the bill as a broad promise to the public. He said, "This is not just an administrative arrangement, but a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to ensure equitable development, unity, and progress for all sections of our people."
The youth wing expects fast growth for the frontier. They thanked the PDA administration for steering the legislation through the assembly. This structure provides the eastern districts a seat at the table.
