Kohima: The Niropen Yankho Eloe Ekhung marked its silver jubilee on July 25 at the Industrial Training Institute in Wokha. The event centered on the theme Lead in Truth. Members gathered to honor the group's history and plan for the future. Ward 15 Councillor Hapenthung Ezung attended as the special guest while Lotha Eloe Hoho President Thungbeni Ngullie delivered the keynote.
Ezung pushed for high standards. He told the assembly, "truth and integrity should remain the foundation of leadership and community service." He urged the women to work with humility, support their neighbors, and stay united to boost community development. Ezung also released the group's 25th Silver Jubilee Souvenir during the ceremony.
Ngullie challenged the audience to value honesty even when it hurts. She warned against social ills and urged members to avoid actions that force them to hide from the public. Financial independence took center stage during her talk. She noted that "women should not only know how to manage household responsibilities but also understand financial planning, savings, investments and informed decision-making."
The event began with a silent prayer for departed members followed by an invocation from Orensali Humtsoe. Zuchano C Ezung welcomed the guests and Renchumi E Ezung recounted the organization's history. N Samuel Ezung brought greetings for the Niropen Council. Stephen Nyanthung Ezung led a prayer for blessings. Z Teresa Ezung closed the day with a vote of thanks.
