NEET Exam Leak Sparks Political Brawl Over Accountability

Guwahati: Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 23. He accused the BJP of dodging responsibility for the NEET paper leak. The government keeps pointing fingers at Jawaharlal Nehru instead of fixing the crisis. Gogoi mocked the official reaction on X. He wrote, "Students' demand: Resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Prime Minister Modi's response: Fast-track courts. Cause of the confusion: Pandit Nehru."

Nationwide protests continue to roil the country. Thousands of students recently joined the Sansad Chalo march in Delhi. Groups like the Cockroach Janta Party led these demonstrations. They want Dharmendra Pradhan to quit his post as Union Education Minister. Critics say the testing process is broken.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma disagrees. He backed the Prime Minister on July 23. Sarma called the creation of fast-track courts a win for students. He claims the government makes the youth its top priority. The Chief Minister stated, "To ensure that the culprits in the NEET paper leak case are swiftly brought to justice, Fast Track Courts will be established for the expeditious disposal of the cases."

The BJP maintains its stance. Officials insist they want a clean investigation. They say the opposition is just playing politics with the exam. The Centre promises to punish anyone found guilty of malpractice. Prime Minister Modi has already told his departments to get moving.
