Kohima: The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee wants the state government to issue work orders for all remaining Foothills roads right now. The working season is coming fast. Tribal leaders met in Dimapur on September 26 to push for action on the stalled 2nd Phase two-lane construction project across the state. They need these contracts signed before the weather turns.
During the meeting, the committee and Dimapur-based tribal groups reaffirmed their support for the project. They promised unflinching confidence in the group until the job is finished. They demanded that officials treat the project as a top priority. "The matters should be taken up on priority," the groups stated in a formal resolution.
The assembly also discussed the future of the infrastructure. They plan to back the state government if the project gets upgraded to a National Highway under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. This Trans Nagaland Highway project remains the primary focus for the tribal organizations as they urge the state to restart construction on all sectors.

The discussions took place at Kher Mahal in Dimapur. The session was formally organized as a consultative meeting between the committee and the Dimapur-based Nagaland tribal hohos, with the final statement released through their Media and Information Cell.
