Naga National Council Calls for October 18 Martyrs' Day Observance

Kohima: The Naga National Council wants Nagas everywhere to mark Naga National Martyrs' Day on October 18. It is a day for remembrance. This date honors thousands who died fighting for Naga sovereignty from 1952 until today.

The group issued the appeal through its Information and Publicity Wing. It called the observance a "national obligation and duty of every Naga." The NNC insists these deaths represent a core piece of history that future generations must not forget.

Nagas living in the homeland and across the globe should hold the event with solemn dignity, unity, and earnest prayer. The organization asks for God's blessings and strength. It hopes this unity helps the people continue the push for their legitimate historical and political rights.
