Kohima: The Nagaland Association for Adventure, Mountaineering and Education, known as NAAME, turns 20. They are celebrating the milestone with a rugged trek. The group plans a cleanliness drive combined with a hike up Mt. Terogvü, the tallest peak in Tseminyu District.
The event happens October 3 at Terogvunyu village. NAAME is teaming up with the Terogvunyu Youth Organisation and partners from the Nagaland Forest Management Project for the day. Organizers want to push local youth toward better environmental habits and responsible outdoor travel.
Participants meet at the NAAME office at Razhü Point by 8:00 AM. From there, the group heads to Tseminyu to begin the climb. NAAME General Secretary Pukil Kintso stated that the milestone is an "opportunity to reaffirm its continuing engagement with adventure, mountaineering, education and environmental stewardship."
The hike marks two decades of history. It brings together members, friends, and supporters. The association keeps its focus on nature and outdoor skills.
