Kohima: The Nagaland Association for Adventure Mountaineering and Education reached a milestone. On October 3, the group celebrated its 20th foundation day. More than 30 members gathered for a trek and cleanliness drive at Mt Terogvu, the highest peak in Tseminyu district.
This event ran in partnership with the Terogvunyu Youth Organisation. Lawrence Keyho chaired the day, starting with an invocation by Khrieketoulie Kintso. NAAME Team Leader Akho Phira explained the Nagaland Forest Management Project to the crowd.
NAAME President Ruokuovikho Chale addressed the group. He looked back at two decades of work, noting the group's push for adventure sports and eco-tourism. Chale said the mission centers on "environmental conservation and youth development at the centre."
Hospitality experts offered their view on the future. George Richa, who runs Yedikha Campsite in Jakhama, joined tour guide Nicholas Leno to discuss regional growth. They urged members to build new tour circuits and hospitality spots across Tseminyu district to expand existing options. The day ended with the release of the NAAME Annual Report 2025-26. Vilhoubeinuo Sorunuo gave the vote of thanks before a final mass prayer.
