Mokokchung Officials Push for Student Voter Registration

Kohima: Electoral officials gathered at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School on September 1. They ran a Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation awareness drive. The event coincided with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision exercise across Mokokchung district. Officials want more young people involved.

EAC Neithozo Theunuo serves as the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer for the 27 AC-Mokokchung Town Assembly Constituency. He spoke to the students about the weight of their civic duties. He reminded the crowd that democracy rests on the rule of "one person, one vote" and urged every eligible citizen to exercise their franchise responsibly.

The supervisor for the 27 AC explained the nuts and bolts of the administrative revision process. They need help from students, new voters, and the wider community. Cooperation with Booth Level Officers remains mandatory. Accurate records are the goal. This work ensures the district keeps an updated and error-free electoral roll.
