The government states, "The expansion is intended to strengthen the state’s digital infrastructure, attract IT investment, and create local employment."
The existing Phase I of the Shillong Tech Park is already operational and currently supports 1,500 direct and 4,500 indirect jobs. Once Phase II concludes by December, it is expected to add another 3,000 direct and 9,000 indirect roles. Meanwhile, the Tura Tech Park continues to make significant progress, reaching 75 per cent completion in both physical and financial metrics. This facility is slated to provide an additional 1,000 direct and 3,000 indirect employment opportunities for the region.
