Manipur Journalist Bijoy Kakchingtabam Named to Press Council of India

Imphal: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh officially congratulated Associate Editor of Poknapham, Bijoy Kakchingtabam, following his appointment to the Press Council of India. The Chief Minister expects Kakchingtabam to maintain media ethics and serve the nation with dedication during his tenure.

Local journalists are celebrating the move. The All Manipur Working Journalists Union claims the appointment is a significant milestone for the state media industry. AMWJU President Asem Bhakta voiced pride in the development. He believes the new member will advocate effectively for Manipur on a national stage.

Bhakta addressed the appointment in a social media post. He called the nomination a "historic first" for working journalists of Manipur. The union leader also added, "On behalf of the AMWJU family, we express our gratitude and best wishes."
