Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh honored successful MPSC 2022 candidates on July 15 during the 14th Foundation Day of the Creative Circle Coaching Institute. The event took place at Hotel Imolesh in Old Lambulane, Imphal. Singh championed a merit-based system as the foundation of public trust.

The Chief Minister kept his distance from the selection process. He did not speak to the Manipur Public Service Commission Chairman until after the results hit the wires. He wanted zero outside influence. When Singh asked the new recruits if they questioned the process, they gave a unanimous answer: "No."

The BJP-led government is putting money behind its words. Singh announced the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Civil Services with a Rs 2.8 crore yearly budget. This cash will fully fund exam preparation for the state’s top 200 aspirants.

He also praised the coaching center for surviving the COVID-19 pandemic and the local law and order struggles. Retired IAS officer R.K. Nimai Singh joined the stage to tell the new hires to drop the corruption and stay honest. He reminded them that local officers are vital to the future of Manipur.

Other guests included retired IPS officer Thangjam Brojen and retired G.P. Women’s College Principal Dr. B. Lalhari Sharma. Faculty, parents, and students filled the room to recognize the achievement of the new officers.
