Kohima: Kohima Science College Jotsoma launched its inaugural Inter-Collegiate Tournament on August 6. The event features men and women's basketball alongside men's futsal. Athletes traveled from Kohima, Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Mokokchung to compete. Eleven guest colleges joined the action. These schools include Tetso College, St Joseph's College Jakhama, Alder College, Nagaland University School of Agricultural Sciences, and Capital College of Higher Education. Sazolie College, Patkai Christian College, Oriental College, Fazl Ali College, Kohima College, and Baptist College also sent teams.
The KSCJ Auditorium hosted the opening ceremony. Moarenba I Imchen chaired the event, while Chaplain Kivipu Jimomi led the invocation. Vipito Achumi delivered the welcome address. "Our vision for this tournament extends beyond competition. We believe it is a celebration of friendship, teamwork, discipline, respect, and true sportsmanship," Achumi stated.
Principal Dr. Temjenwabang opened the games. He expects the tournament to boost future collaboration between schools. Players took an oath of sportsmanship led by the KSCSU Games and Sports Secretary. The KSCJ Choir closed the program with the college anthem. The college views this tournament as a key milestone for leadership and institutional bonds.
