Kohima: MY Bharat-Kiphire and Akheda Amulung held district-level competitions for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan 2026 drug-free campaign on August 22. The event took place at Agape Higher Secondary School. Col Rajiv Sharma, Commandant of the 30 Assam Rifles, attended as the special guest.
Tronglise Sangtam of Akheda Amulung led a session on leadership. District Youth Officer Kishore Dulam welcomed the crowd and emphasized building a drug-free society. Dulam noted that cheap drugs in interior areas fuel social issues like extortion. He said, "Creating a drug-free environment should be a priority."
Col Sharma urged youth to reject drugs entirely. He told the audience that overcoming addiction demands a strong and determined mind. Major Shikha Satsangi (Retd) spoke next. She held a career guidance session focused on women in the Armed Forces. She walked parents through the training and testing process while urging them to support daughters seeking military careers.
Participants competed in reel making, short films, painting, dance, music, rap, slam poetry, Nukkad Natak, slogan writing, and debate. The competitions offered a creative platform to push the anti-drug message. Founder of Akheda Amulung, Longtili C Sangtam, ended the event with a vote of thanks. He credited the students, teachers, volunteers, and judges for the success of the initiative.
