Guwahati: The India Meteorological Department expects heavy rain across Assam through July 13. Monsoon conditions will trigger thunderstorms and lightning throughout the state. Rain is coming. Western and southern districts face the highest risk of severe downpours, with predictions hitting 20 centimeters per day in isolated areas.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority warned that this weather will cause waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides. Transit will suffer. Officials expect slow traffic and have told commuters to plan trips carefully or stay off the roads when the skies open up.

District emergency teams are on standby to handle the fallout. Authorities told locals in vulnerable areas to watch for rising water and shifting ground. The state disaster agency stated, "ASDMA said it will continue to provide weather updates and advisories through its official website and social media platforms and urged the public to follow official weather bulletins and instructions issued by local authorities." Residents in Guwahati should use caution until the storm passes.
