Head-on collision leaves driver injured under Guwahati flyover

Guwahati: A high-speed collision left one driver seriously injured late Wednesday night. The wreck occurred under the Ganeshguri flyover in Guwahati on September 2. Two cars smashed into each other head-on. The vehicles were a Tata Nexon, registration AS01FH1135, and an i10, registration AS01GJ9947.

The Nexon was heading from GS Road toward Kahilipara. The i10 was traveling from Ganeshguri toward Zoo Road. The impact destroyed both cars. Witnesses pulled the driver of the i10 from the wreckage. Locals helped get him to a hospital for immediate medical treatment. Local residents who rushed to the spot helped shift the injured driver to a hospital, where he was admitted for medical treatment.

Police have yet to determine how the crash happened. Authorities are still waiting on updates regarding the man’s condition. This accident highlights growing road safety issues. Guwahati has seen many recent crashes at major flyovers and arterial roads.
