Grenade Blast Strikes Thoubal Oil Pump

Imphal: Unidentified attackers threw a hand grenade at the Sorojini Oil Pump near Khangabok on August 29. The blast shook the facility at 6:30 pm. No one died. Nobody was hurt.

Witnesses saw the suspects pull up in a car moving from Wangjing toward Thoubal. The device landed near an oil tanker parked inside the complex before detonating. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the explosion.

Thoubal Police Station officers are investigating the scene. The incident mirrors past attacks on area fuel stations where people planted explosive devices. Authorities noted: "Further details regarding the incident and the identity of those involved are awaited."
