Garo Hills election officials launch intensive electoral roll revision training

Shillong: Election officials across the Garo Hills districts are preparing for the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls 2026. Recent training sessions held in Tikrikilla and Ampati aimed to equip staff with the necessary procedures for the upcoming revision cycle.

In Tikrikilla, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pearla D. Sangma met with Booth Level Officers from the Raksamgre and Tikrikilla constituencies. She highlighted the importance of precision in the field and noted that the "success of the revision depends on the accuracy of field-level data collection." These officers are scheduled to conduct house-to-house visits between June 30 and July 29.

Meanwhile, the District Election Officer’s office in South West Garo Hills hosted a separate training program for supervisors and enumerators representing the Ampati, Mahendraganj, and Salmanpara constituencies. These sessions focused on standardizing verification protocols with an October 1, 2026, qualifying date in mind. Authorities have directed all personnel to maintain high standards of transparency to ensure the final electoral roll remains inclusive and error-free.
