Garima Saikia Garg Plants Tree at Proposed Zubeen Garg Memorial Site

Guwahati: Garima Saikia Garg visited the Gourang River in Kokrajhar on Monday. She arrived to inspect the location for the proposed Zubeen Garg Memorial Park. The widow of the late Assamese music legend planted a Nahor sapling to honor his memory. She wept openly during the visit.

The Bodoland Territorial Council plans to develop the site across 30 bighas of land. Officials expect the project to cost Rs 25 crore. The park will serve as a tribute to the singer, actor, and composer. It aims to preserve his cultural legacy for years to come.

Garg praised the leadership behind the construction. She offered thanks to BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary for the initiative. "Garima Saikia Garg became visibly emotional and expressed her feelings with tears, remembering the late artist and the significance of the memorial being built in his honour."
