Kohima: The Regional Ayurveda Research Centre in Dimapur observed the 11th Ayurveda Day on September 23. This year, the event focused on the theme Ayurveda for Health. Dr. Girish Patil S., the Director of the ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun in Medziphema, attended as the chief guest.
Dr. Laiphrakpam Renu Devi opened the session. She spoke about the importance of Ayurveda in preventive healthcare, nutrition, and environmental sustainability. Research Officer Dr. Dipsundar Sahu described the discipline as a solution for modern health issues. He stated that the center wants to promote a, "collective vision of promoting sustainable wellness, natural lifestyle practices and proactive self care."
Staff organized several community events to mark the day. These included health camps, school awareness campaigns, and orientation programs. Patients took part in a quiz competition. Organizers also handed out medicinal saplings to encourage people to grow their own herbs. The day featured a Rangoli contest and a non-flame cooking competition to highlight healthy culinary ideas. Research Assistant Nikhil Krishna ended the program with a vote of thanks.
