Imphal: Delhi Police filed a 500-page chargesheet against seven people for the killing of Chongtham Vikram Singh. The 54-year-old musician and teacher died following a brutal beating at his home in Kilokari village on September 7. The police submitted the case files to a Saket court. It names 30 witnesses and charges the suspects with murder, criminal conspiracy, and house-trespass.

Singh lived in the southeast Delhi village for over 20 years. Trouble started when he complained about men drinking and shouting outside his apartment. A group of delivery workers and dhaba staff ignored his request. Eight men followed Singh to his unit. They attacked him in front of his son, Yaiphaba. The victim died at Holy Family Hospital after his son rushed him there for emergency care.

Police arrested seven adults and one juvenile. A police source stated the suspects claimed they attacked Singh to "teach him a lesson" for complaining about the noise, though they insisted they did not intend to kill him. Singh had previously reported the noise issues to the owner of a local dhaba, but the disturbances continued until the fatal confrontation.
