Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma observed World Environment Day on Friday by planting a Miyawaki tree sapling in Mawrah village, located in the East Khasi Hills district. The Chief Minister was joined by a local student during the initiative.

The event served as a public commitment to environmental conservation in the region. According to official reports from the Chief Minister's Office, the activity was held "to mark the World Environment Day on Friday."
