Guwahati: Twenty tribal farmers walked away with new greenhouse setups on September 29. The haul came from the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan. The handoff took place at the Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer office in Boko. Farmers from the Boko and Bargaon agricultural circles stood as the primary recipients.

Boko-Chhaygaon MLA Raju Mech joined Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer Gautam Roy Choudhury to oversee the event. State Agriculture Department officials also showed up to back the effort. The gear aims to modernize farming in these remote areas.

Roy Choudhury explained the plan to the press. He said the programme was aimed at "strengthening agricultural activities among tribal communities and ensuring that government subsidies and schemes reach eligible beneficiaries at the grassroots level."

The initiative intends to lift the socio-economic standing of tribal-majority regions. This rollout is just the start. Officials confirmed the program will hit the Chhaygaon and Bongaon agricultural circles in later phases.
