Guwahati: Assam officials locked in the schedule for the seventh Gunotsav. This statewide evaluation of government schools runs across 35 districts in three distinct phases. The mission remains simple: assess student performance, infrastructure, and the overall quality of education.
Phase one kicks off January 6 and runs through January 9. It hits 13 districts: Barpeta, Bajali, Karimganj, Kamrup (Metropolitan), Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Udalguri, Jorhat, Karbi Anglong, and South Salmara-Mankachar.
Phase two follows on January 19 to 22. This round covers 12 districts: Baksa, Biswanath, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhubri, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup, Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Tinsukia, and West Karbi Anglong.
The final phase spans February 2 to 5. Ten districts wrap up the exercise: Bongaigaon, Dhemaji, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Cachar, Nalbari, Morigaon, Dima Hasao, and Majuli. The government stated the initiative is "aimed at evaluating school-level performance and assessing the overall quality of education in government schools across the state." Evaluation concludes February 5, 2027.
