The monsoon is dumping moderate to heavy rainfall on the region. This weather pattern brings risks of waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides. Traffic will slow to a crawl. District administrations are monitoring the situation and keeping emergency responders on standby to handle any disasters.
The agency sent a clear message to locals. "In view of the situation, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority requests all residents of Guwahati to take necessary precautions and remain vigilant," the advisory stated.
Authorities told travelers to rethink their plans. Avoid hitting the road during downpours. People in low-lying spots or near hillsides must keep a close watch for rising water or shifting earth. Residents should monitor local weather updates to stay ahead of the storm.
