Assam Army Officer Receives Sena Medal for Manipur Gallantry

Guwahati: Major Rupam Das earned the Sena Medal for gallantry during military operations in Manipur. The officer hails from Dubi Kathokuchi village in the Bajali district of Assam. He serves in the Indian Army with 8 Bihar. He is currently stationed in the conflict-ridden region.

President Droupadi Murmu approved 78 gallantry awards on the eve of Independence Day 2026. This list includes 13 posthumous honors for members of the Defence Forces and Central Armed Police Forces. The Ministry of Defence confirmed the official selection of IC-83402N Major Rupam Das for his service.
