Shillong: Bollywood icon Aamir Khan will receive the Screen Icon Award at the 37th Singapore International Film Festival. The event runs from October 21 to November 1. Organizers scheduled a special screening of Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary. Director Ashutosh Gowariker will join the festivities. The festival also debuts a Junior Explorers section, featuring sensory-friendly films starting with the stop-motion movie Brave Cat.
Actor Nani is celebrating a massive win at the box office. His new film, The Paradise, raked in over Rs 80 crore globally on its opening day. Directed by Srikanth Odela, the project highlights the struggles of a marginalized tribe fighting systemic oppression. Nani stars as Jadal, a man who stands against social discrimination. The movie hit theaters Thursday in eight languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Telugu, English, and Spanish. This film marks the second collaboration between Nani and Odela following their 2023 hit, Dasara.
