Imphal: The 1st Indian Reserve Battalion met with residents at T. Lailoiphai village on September 26, 2026. This outreach event in the Sangaikot Sub-Division of Manipur’s Churachandpur district aimed to tighten bonds between officers and locals. Police focused on crime prevention and communal harmony.

Roughly 60 attendees showed up. They represented the local Village Authority alongside men and women from the area. Officials pushed for community-based intelligence gathering to help stop crime. They also urged neighbors to settle local disputes through calm dialogue rather than violence.

The session covered child and women safety, drug abuse, and youth participation. Better relations build peace. Police want residents to feel comfortable sharing information and working alongside law enforcement to secure the region. The Village Authority ended the day by offering a formal vote of thanks. The group shared light refreshments to close the meeting.
