Zeliangrong Statehood Working Committee and Government of India Advance Political Talks

Imphal: The Zeliangrong Statehood Working Committee (ZSWC) and the Government of India conducted their tenth round of political negotiations in New Delhi on May 29, 2026. This latest session, held under the initiative of the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), saw both parties welcome Jim Lo as the new representative for the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Louis Gangmei, the ZUF Secretary of Information and Publicity, confirmed that the meeting served to review progress and maintain the momentum of ongoing discussions. The participants focused on drafting a comprehensive settlement for the Zeliangrong political issue, aiming to establish a clear roadmap for a final resolution.

Both the ZSWC and the Indian government reiterated their dedication to the process. The dialogue reflects a shared commitment to reaching an amicable and long-term solution to the political concerns of the Zeliangrong people.
