Imphal: Yoga and meditation sessions took place along the Nambul River in Imphal on Sunday to mark the 12th International Day of Yoga. Participants dressed in white gathered at four distinct riverfront locations across the Imphal West district to promote the conservation of local waterways and mountains.

The events ran from 6:30 am to 9:30 am, centering on the theme, "Clean Mind, Clean Water." Four separate river protection groups managed the activities with sponsorship from the Manipur Directorate of Environment and Climate Change and the National River Conservation Directorate under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

Local organizations hosted the gatherings at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai, Pishum Oinam Leikai, Naoremthong Khulem Leikai, and Iroisemba Irong Laipham. Officials from the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, including Dr. T. Brajakumar and Alex Thounaojam, joined community members at the Iroisemba site to support the initiative.
