Worker critical after electric shock at Kohima gate

Kohima: Rahul Ali, 18, is fighting for his life. The worker suffered a severe electric shock on Friday while painting a new welcome gate at Nagabazar in Kohima. He hit a live power line while on the job.

Locals and emergency crews rushed Ali to Putuonuo Hospital. Doctors later moved him to the ICU at Naga Hospital for advanced care. Ali, originally from Assam, lives in the Naga Hospital Colony.

The community is reeling. They plan to petition the Power Department to move the dangerous overhead lines. They say this is necessary to ensure safety and prevent future accidents. Residents are also rallying to help the family, stating that "all possible assistance would be extended to Rahul Ali and his family during this difficult time."
