Guwahati: A woman in the Boragaon area of Guwahati fell victim to a robbery after two unidentified men posing as finance company employees targeted her at home. Kalpana Kalita was alone when the pair arrived, initiating a conversation before asking her for a glass of water.

The suspects allegedly used the moment to spray an intoxicating substance on the victim. Kalita lost consciousness, allowing the two men to steal a gold chain from her neck before fleeing the scene. The victim contacted her daughter as soon as she regained consciousness to report the crime.

Local authorities from the Garchuk Police Station have launched an investigation into the incident. Officers believe the suspects arrived on a Pulsar motorcycle and are currently reviewing local CCTV footage to identify the culprits. A police official stated, "Investigators are currently examining CCTV footage from the area in an effort to identify and trace the accused."
