Imphal: Manipur Police and the Narcotics Control Bureau caught a woman smuggling 22 kilograms of methamphetamine on Wednesday. The haul carries a street value of roughly 25 crore rupees. It is a massive hit to local traffickers.

The operation took place in the Churachandpur district. Acting on specific intelligence, the joint team raided the residence of Paominlin Munlo. They discovered 19 packets of the drugs, known locally as World is Yours tablets, stashed inside the house. Officers also seized a Mahindra Bolero parked in the compound, which they believe served as the primary transport vehicle for the contraband.

Authorities tracked the shipment’s origin to Moreh, a border town, and suspect the drugs were heading to Assam. The suspect now faces charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. She remains in police custody.

Officials are hunting for other members of the syndicate. "Further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other persons involved in the drug trafficking network," a spokesperson stated. Police expect more arrests as they piece together the supply chain.
