Kohima: The Wokha District Bharat Scouts and Guides inducted a new set of office bearers during a ceremony held at the DC Conference Hall in Wokha on June 1. Deputy Commissioner K. Mhathung Tsanglao took office as the district president, while senior Sub-Divisional Officer Nchumbemo Jami was appointed as the district secretary. T. Zuchanthung Lotha, the District Organising Commissioner for Scouts, officiated the induction.
During his address, President Tsanglao emphasized the movement's role in developing disciplined and service-minded youth, promising his support to strengthen local operations. Secretary Jami used the occasion to call on regional schools, specifically private institutions, to grow participation by establishing additional Scouts and Guides units.
The event also honored high-achieving participants. Zuben Tsopoe from Cistus School earned the title of Best Unit Leader for Scouts, and Areni Humtsoe of LMS was named Best Unit Leader for Guides. Cistus School received the top honor as the Best Unit. The proceedings included a presentation by Cistus School students, a vote of thanks from Scout Master Z. Libenthung Murry, and concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
