Agartala: A three-day training program for district-level field trainers began on Monday in West Tripura. Held at the Mini Conference Hall in the Sonar Tari State Guest House, the event runs through June 3, 2026, and focuses on preparing personnel for the upcoming Houselisting and Housing Census.

Participants are receiving instruction on data collection procedures, census methodology, and field operations. The initiative aims to provide trainers with the operational guidelines and skills necessary to maintain high standards of accuracy throughout the enumeration process.

An official from the District Magistrate and Collector office of West Tripura opened the sessions by highlighting the critical nature of the exercise. He stated that the census provides a foundation for regional planning and development, making the precision of field workers essential to the success of the national operation.

District officials expect this capacity-building effort to improve the overall efficiency of census functionaries. They believe the training will be instrumental in generating reliable and comprehensive data for the district.
