The crackdown followed orders from Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa. A joint team from Jowai Police Station and the Traffic Cell carried out the operation.

Officers targeted PS Automobiles, Shri Bhawani Automobiles, Ali Motors, and R.S. Automobiles. Police filed FIR No. 71(09)2026 at the Jowai station. Charges include Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 103 and 104 of the Trade Marks Act, 1999. The investigation remains active.

Authorities warned that adulterated fluids destroy engines. Police officials stated, "the campaign against the sale of counterfeit goods in violation of copyright and trademark laws would continue in the region."
