VPP Chief Urges Public to Confront State Corruption

Shillong: VPP president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit is pushing citizens to get loud about corruption. He wants people to stop playing it safe. Those tasked with protecting the state must drop their silence and start fighting back against graft.

Basaiawmoit posted his message online this past Saturday. He pointed out that if “traitors, the corrupt and those who oppress the people” can come forward, then the honest ones should show even more grit. He expects those who want clean governance to be fearless when calling out wrongdoing.

The party chief skipped naming specific targets or incidents in his statement. He did, however, hammer home the party line. He wants the public to hold those in power accountable at every turn.
