Village authority disowns resident amid job scam probe

Shillong: The Executive Committee of the Dorbar Shnong Raid Sawkur Nongkseh officially cut ties with Willybert Thangkhiew today. Village leaders moved to distance themselves from the resident after a wave of fraud and cheating accusations hit their community. He is not a member of the local government. He never held any authority to represent the village in any official capacity.

Reports indicate Thangkhiew allegedly scammed people by promising non-existent jobs in the Police and other state departments. He targeted unemployed youths for quick cash. The village authority first confronted Thangkhiew after previous complaints surfaced. He admitted to the misconduct back then and signed a written pledge to quit his dishonest schemes. Now, fresh allegations on social media suggest he ignored his own promise.

Rangbah Shnong M. Thangkhiew issued a blunt statement to clear the air. "He has no authority to represent the Dorbar Shnong in any capacity. He does not hold any office or responsibility under the EC, and the Dorbar Shnong shall not be held responsible for any of his actions or representations."

The village committee met on July 7 to formally condemn his behavior. They want the law to step in. Officials are now calling on police to launch a deep investigation into the alleged crimes. They urged the public to stop paying anyone for government job promises. Verify those claims with official channels first. Do not get scammed.
