Aizawl: During a recent visit to the Kolasib district in Mizoram, Union Minister Suresh Gopi engaged with government department heads to review the state's administrative priorities and ongoing developmental activities. The discussions focused on creating a roadmap for sustainable growth by addressing critical infrastructure and economic gaps across the region.
A primary point of emphasis for the Minister was the necessity for Mizoram to achieve self-reliance in power generation. Gopi urged officials to prioritize the development of new hydroelectric projects to meet the state's rising electricity demands and ensure long-term energy stability.
Beyond energy infrastructure, the Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening the educational landscape in Mizoram. He specifically called for an expansion of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan schools to provide local students with better access to quality education. Furthermore, Gopi identified the agricultural sector as a significant growth engine, advocating for initiatives that improve market access and boost the export of local produce to national and international markets.
